Outreach activities

Science communication is a core value for me. We cannot demand the society to understand (and fund) research projects if we do not make an effort to propagate the message of what we do and why we do it. This is why I collaborate with different (local) projects and I am always open to help in any science outreach activity. I have also volunteered in Providence’s Children Museum (in the astronomy exhibition) and in the European Researcher’s night in Santander, Spain.

Spring 2024

Speaker in the ESA Young Professional Event

I was an invited speaker at the YPE 2024, an exciting annual conference for young professionals at the European Space Agency accross all establishments, to explain how theoretical cosmologists are using the ESA Euclid mission to discover the mysteries of our Universe.

Spring 2024

Role model for ESA Education

As a passionate advocate for gender equity in science, I recently appeared in a video by the European Space Agency (ESA) promoting the importance of women in STEM. In my field, where less than 20% of scientists are female, this issue is particularly close to my heart.

Through this initiative, I hope to inspire more women to pursue careers in science and help shift the gender balance in our field. Promoting diversity not only brings fresh perspectives but also strengthens the scientific community as a whole.

Apart from outreach initiatives, I am switching to perform a more active role in mentoring young female MSc and PhD students, given that role models in my student years were significantly important to me. If you are a junior cosmologist and want to get in contact, let me know!

Fall 2023

Speaker in Space Rocks

I participated in the Space Rocks programme at the ESTEC Open Day 2023. I gave a short overview about the Euclid mission and shared staged with other scientists to bring Space Science down to Earth. Space Rocks is a celebration of space exploration and the art, music, and culture it inspires.

Fall 2023

Speaker in Astronomy on Tap

I was invited to speak about the Euclid mission in Astronomy on Tap (AoT) in Leiden, on September 2023. The spirit of AoT is to bring scientists to a bar to talk about astronomy in an accesible way.

Fall 2022

Outreach writter for cultural booklets

I have written two different science outreach articles for the booklet of a Spanish popular celebration called ‘The Falles‘. The theme of the year is ‘Day and Night’ and I have reviewed basic concepts abou the Sun, the Moon and the stars from a scientific point of view in relation with current space missions. You can listen to the day article here (in Valencian language).

Since 2019

Collaborator in She speaks science

She Speaks Science is a project that aims to promote women and minority scientists in STEM by inviting storyteller that owns a story to share it with the world, once a month. I collaborate by translating articles from English into my mother tongue, Spanish. You can find an example here.
